Today, I would say has been the most challenging day of my juice cleanse.
As I am writing you right now, all I want to do is go to sleep, so I will keep this short.
Favorite Juice of the Day: Honeydew Melon juice blended with Avocado.
In reading a little on rebootwithjoe.com, we found that it is ok to have Avocado in your juice cleanse regiment even though you can not put it in a juicer. Avocados contain healthy fats which is good if your skin is getting dry and also to increase fat soluble vitamin intake.
Least Favorite Juice of the Day: Cauliflower, Orange, and Carrot.
In attempt to avoid doing the vegetable dump method, today we juiced various fruits and vegetables and put them into different containers. By doing this, we were able to try a whole bunch of different variations which I highly recommend. Found out a decent way to have Kale with what we had. Kale, Orange, Cauliflower, and Carrot turned out to be a decent blend.
To give you an idea of the yields you will get with various fruits and vegetables, here is a list of the approximate yields we got. The kale does not give you much yield, but is pack with vital nutrients.
- 2 Pears = 15 ounces
- 4 Lemon = 4 oz
- 10 Oranges = 34 ounces
- 1 Head of Cauliflower = 10 ounces
- 3 Bunches of Kale = 10 ounces
- 12 Carrots = 18 ounces
Juice Cleanse Side effects: My stomach was a little upset for part of the day. Nothing serious. My energy levels have been good for most of the day and was driven to get some work done today posting on my eBay store. As the evening has progressed, I have to say I am super exhausted though.
Run Review: Went on a 3.5 mile run today. Had a clear head the whole time. This time I did not prepare with a special drink for exercising. Drank 18 oz of pure Honeydew Melon like 15-30 minutes before my work out. To prevent hypoglycemic shock from running, make sure to wait at least 15 minutes before working out. Next time I go for a run, I will consider drinking a juice pumped with electrolytes. About three fourths of the way through, I started to feel cramps in my abdomen. This is something I normally do not experience when running the distance and pace I ran today. Since I am on a juice cleanse, I have made my pace even a little slower than usual to not wear myself out.
